These terms are an agreement between you and [legal entity, e.g. Hot Milk Ltd] (“Vouched”, “we”, “us”) for use of the Vouched service. By creating an account or using Vouched, you agree to them.

What Vouched is

Vouched is a tool that lets hospitality venues request references about former staff, and lets venues give references quickly. We provide the tool. We do not employ anyone involved, and we don’t write, verify or endorse the references themselves.

Your account

• Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your login details safe.
• You’re responsible for what happens under your account.
• Accounts are for venues and the people who run them, not for consumers.

Using it properly

When you use Vouched, you agree that you will:

• only request a reference about someone who has agreed to references being taken up;
• give honest references, and only about people you actually have knowledge of;
• keep references you receive confidential and use them only to make a fair hiring decision;
• not submit false or malicious references, impersonate anyone, scrape or harvest data, or misuse the service.

We can suspend or remove accounts that break these rules.

References are opinions, not facts we check

A reference on Vouched is the personal opinion of the venue giving it. We don’t verify references and we’re not responsible for their accuracy, fairness or completeness. They’re one input into your decision, not a substitute for your own checks. Rely on them at your own judgement.

A free service

Vouched is free to use. We may introduce optional paid features or advertising in future, and we may change or discontinue parts of the service. We’ll give reasonable notice of significant changes where we can.

Your data

How we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. As a venue requesting references, you also act as a controller of the personal data you put into Vouched, and you confirm you have the right to provide it.

Our stuff

The Vouched platform, its design, brand and code are ours. Using the service doesn’t give you any rights over them.

Liability

We provide Vouched “as is” and do our best to keep it working, but we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for hiring decisions made using references obtained through Vouched. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t legally be limited.

Ending it

You can stop using Vouched and close your account at any time. We can suspend or end access if these terms are broken or if we need to for legal or security reasons.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.

Changes

If we update these terms we’ll change the date above and, for significant changes, let account holders know.
